Welcome to episode #029 of The Crisis Intelligence Podcast, with Melissa Agnes, Captain Chris Hsiung, Tim Burrows and Louis Hayes.
Law enforcement, as an industry in the United States in particular, is in the midst of a major crisis. Between what happened in Ferguson, New York, Phoenix, Cleveland, California… this crisis continues to spiral out of control with the divide between community and police continuing to grow. This needs to stop. But unfortunately, there is currently a lack of true leadership on behalf of law enforcement around the country.
Within this episode of The Crisis Intelligence Podcast, I sit down with three highly qualified and exceptional thought leaders within law enforcement to discuss what’s been going on and the actionable steps that the industry needs to take to begin to truly manage this crisis. My guests on this episode are: Captain Chris Hsiung of the Mountain View Police Department; Tim Burrows, retired Sergeant from the Toronto Police Department and consultant for law enforcement; and Louis Hayes, a police officer in the Metropolitan Chicago area.
Within this episode, I ask the hard questions and together we discuss actionable steps that need to be taken, right now, by both law enforcement and the general public, to begin to manage this crisis and move forward, peacefully and as a community.
This episode of The Crisis Intelligence Podcast discusses:
- What really went wrong and when it started.
- What three law enforcement officers have to say about this current crisis.
- How to begin to pick up the pieces and bridge the divide between community and police.
- Lawful but awful incidents.
- Helpful tips and recommendations for all members of community and law enforcement.
Whether you’re in law enforcement, work for the government or are a member of society, this is an important podcast that you won’t want to miss. Enjoy!
