Last night, I had the pleasure of being a guest on The Crisis Show. It had been a while since I’d been on and I was really looking forward to having a good discussion with host, Rich Klein, about some really hot topics in the social media news right now: Applebee’s social media crisis and HMV’s social media hijacking.
Within our hour long conversation, Rich and I discuss:
- The biggest mistakes made by Applebee’s in their latest social media crisis, why these mistakes were made and what brands can do to make sure they don’t make the same mistakes.
- The recent HMV social media hijacking: when employees took hold of the HMV Twitter account to tweet out their upset over being laid off. There are some great lessons to be learned from HMV’s not-so-unlikely situation.
- Finally, Rich and I briefly discuss how the Boy Scouts of America postponed their ruling on the whole anti-gay policy they’ve upheld for years.
Here’s our discussion on The Crisis Show
