The DDoS attack that Dyn, Inc. experienced a couple weeks ago seems to have freaked some people out. But for those who have never put thought into whether or not a DDoS attack is a high-risk scenario for their organization, a little freak out might not be such a bad thing. After all, a big part of implementing a crisis-ready culture involves regularly asking the right crisis-related questions, and taking a proactive approach towards crisis prevention and preparedness.
This was the inspiration behind this week’s #crisisready video.
- Does a DDoS attack present a crisis for your organization?
- How can you know for sure?
- If it does, what can you do about it now, before faced with this type of potentially damaging incident?
I answer these questions and more in this week’s video. Take a look!
Have you identified a DDoS attack as a high-risk scenario for your organization?

Excellent video.
One suggestion for companies that visualize a potential threat to DDoS attacks.
The IT department of the companies could orchestrate a simulated DDoS ‘Penetration Exercise’ with help of an external party to selectively target a business vertical in order to check protocols and stop bleeding.

Excellent point, Dhyan! Simulations are an extremely valuable and important part of the crisis ready process. Thanks for taking the time to chime in and add value!
