Every now and then I publish a post on cyberbullying. I know it’s not a social media crisis for brands, but it is a digital-era crisis that children, teens and even adults are facing more and more of these days. As I’m a strong believer in taking action for the causes that mean something to you, cyberbullying is one of those causes that I try to shed light on, providing victims, families, schools and authorities with resources that can help in the fight to stop it.
Back in October 2012 I published a post titled, Cyberbullying: 7 Steps for Schools and Additional Resources. I wanted to bring this post back to the forefront because it’s definitely filled with some really great resources for helping to deal with and prevent cyberbullying, no matter where you are in the world.
I also wanted to share with you a video I came across last week that I found to be truly inspiring and beautiful. The video, which is actually a spoken word poem, is titled “To This Day” by Shane Koyczan.
Koyczan writes:
“Schools and families are in desperate need of proper tools to confront this problem. We can give them a starting point… A message that will have a far reaching and long lasting effect in confronting bullying.”
So please, take 7 minutes to watch this beautiful message, share it with your networks and if you’d like to learn more about Koyczan’s anti-bullying project, please click here.
