Yesterday marked the first day of spring, and as I sat listening to the birds chirp and the sun shine, I thought about the new beginnings that spring implies. New beginnings for ourselves, the environment and then I thought why not new beginnings for the relationships we share with our customers?!
As building a strong and loyal network is one of the first preventative measures within your social media crisis plan, why not take this beautiful shift in weather and season to focus on those invaluable relationships and making them even stronger!
So here’s my challenge to you: Go out there today, use spring as your inspiration and do something to connect with your network on a personal level. Share a picture of yourself enjoying your first iced cap of the season, ask how they’re enjoying the beautiful day… Whatever you do make it personal and not-business related. Focus on getting to know your customers and fans and letting them get to know you.
Once you’ve done this, come back to this post and let me know what you did to inspire a conversation, or get to know your network better. By doing this you’ll help others be inspired to do the same, and you’ll also be letting me get to know you better – which I can’t wait to do!
Remember to make it fun, light and personal. Now go out there and strengthen those relationships! The day you encounter a social media crisis, you’ll be oh-so glad you did. 😉
